Turtle Lake Township, Beltrami County (trfnews.i234.me) – A home north of Bemidji has been declared a total loss after a devastating fire broke out on Sunday night, July 13, in Turtle Lake Township, according to the Bemidji Fire Department.
Crews were dispatched at 9:14 p.m. to a structure fire on Black Lake Road NE, roughly 13 miles north of Bemidji. When firefighters arrived, they found both the garage and the single-story home fully engulfed in flames.
Firefighters quickly pulled an attack line to battle the blaze from the outside, then advanced inside both the garage and the home. Additional crews and equipment were brought in to assist with roof operations and suppress the fire.
Officials confirmed that both primary and secondary searches were conducted, and the residence was cleared of people and pets.
