GRAND FORKS (trfnews.i234.me) — Ian Paul Kramchuck, 20, was originally charged in district court but his case was dismissed due to the upgraded charge of a Hobbs Act robbery. Court documents state that on August 12th, Kramchuck committed theft from a business entity engaged in interstate commerce by using actual and threatened force, violence, and fear of injury.
The incident occurred at Petro Serve USA located at 1220 University Ave., where Kramchuck entered armed with a .40 caliber Smith and Wesson handgun. He allegedly threatened an employee with the weapon and demanded money from the till. However, employees intervened by taking away the gun and restraining Kramchuck until police arrived.
Kramchuck’s federal arraignment and initial appearance are scheduled for November 4th at 11 a.m.
