Hillsboro, North Dakota (trfnews.i234.me) — A Hillsboro man faces felony charges after a stabbing case. Court records describe an apartment incident on December 26, 2025.
Robert E. Taylor, 48, is charged with attempted murder and aggravated assault. The case is filed in Traill County.
What court records say happened
Records say deputies got a 911 call around 2:23 a.m. A caller reported a man was stabbed. The caller said they were driving to the hospital in Hillsboro.
The incident happened at an apartment in the 400 block of 2nd Avenue SW. Records say two people went there after a child was scared. They heard a loud noise. A resident let them inside.
Records say the resident wanted Taylor to leave. The two people tried for about two hours. They started moving Taylor’s bags into the hallway.
Records say Taylor pulled a knife from his pocket. Records say he moved toward one person. The other person stepped between them.
Records say the victim was struck three times in the head. The two people left right away.

Injuries are described as serious
A doctor told law enforcement the wounds could have been life-threatening. Records link that risk to blood loss. Records also say the victim’s blood pressure was very low.
Jail and next court date
Records say deputies contacted Taylor on December 28. He remains held at the Cass County Jail in Fargo.
His initial court appearance was on December 30. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for January 21, 2026.
Charges are allegations. A complaint is not a conviction. Taylor had not entered a plea in the reports reviewed.
