High School Students Hospitalized After Highway Accident: Community Rallies for Support

FOREST LAKE, MN (trfnews.i234.me) – Forest Lake Area High School is shaken after two 15-year-old students were struck by a car while crossing Highway 61 Tuesday afternoon. As of Wednesday morning, the teens remain hospitalized, receiving the best care possible. The Minnesota State Patrol confirmed their ages but withheld their names.

School officials provided an update from the families, expressing gratitude for community support. Extra support is available for students coping with the incident.

The accident occurred at the Highway 61 crosswalk, where the teens, part of a running group, were hit by an 84-year-old driver. They were airlifted from the scene and remain under medical care. The cause of the crash is under investigation.
