Hennepin County ( trfnews.i234.me ) — A man is dead after an early morning stabbing in Minneapolis on Saturday. Police are still working to learn what caused the attack.
Officers were called just before 1 a.m. to the 700 block of East 17th Street. The report was for a stabbing. When they arrived, they found a man with a life-threatening wound.
Medical crews tried lifesaving measures at the scene. However, the victim died before he could be taken to a hospital. His name and cause of death will come from the Hennepin County Medical Examiner.
According to police, the suspect ran from the area before officers got there. As a result, no arrest had been made by Saturday afternoon.
Several witnesses spoke with investigators. In addition, crime lab personnel helped gather evidence. The scene was taped off for hours while homicide detectives worked. They also canvassed the area for more information.
Police have not said if they found a weapon. Likewise, they have not shared what might have led to the stabbing.
