Hennepin County, Minnesota (trfnews.i234.me) — Former Republican State Senator Justin David Eichorn appeared in federal court today on charges related to the attempted solicitation of a minor for sex.
Eichorn was arrested earlier this year in Bloomington, Minnesota, after arranging to meet someone he believed to be a 17-year-old girl, who was in fact an undercover law enforcement officer. He is among several individuals arrested in a multi-agency sex sting operation.
Federal prosecutors allege that Eichorn knowingly attempted to engage in sexual activity with a minor. In June 2025, he filed a motion to dismiss the federal indictment, arguing that he was being selectively prosecuted due to his status as a state senator at the time of the alleged offense. That motion was denied.
The case remains ongoing, and Eichorn is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
