Roseau County (trfnews.i234.me) – Authorities in Roseau County are investigating a serious head-on crash that occurred Monday afternoon, July 21, about four miles south of Badger, Minnesota.

According to a statement from the Roseau County Sheriff’s Office, a 2010 white Ford pickup collided head-on with a 2020 Mac semi-gravel truck around 4:11 p.m. on County Road 3.

Prior to the crash, witnesses reported seeing the Ford pickup driving erratically while heading northbound. Moments later, the vehicle struck the southbound semi-truck head-on.

The driver of the Ford, 59-year-old Timothy Norman Peters of Badger, was airlifted by ambulance to Altru Hospital in Grand Forks for treatment of his injuries. The semi-truck driver, 78-year-old Steven Nathaniel Current of Popusky, Minnesota, was transported to LifeCare Medical Center in Roseau.

Peters is suspected of driving under the influence of alcohol, and the incident is still under investigation by the Roseau County Sheriff’s Office and the Minnesota State Patrol.
