Hallock – Harvey Riendeau, 78, of Hallock, formerly of the Brooks area, passed away late Thursday evening, August 15, 2024, at Kittson Healthcare Nursing Home in Hallock.
Harvey was born on May 4, 1946, in Crookston, the son of Harvey Sr. and Mary (Walsh) Riendeau. He was raised in Brooks and he attended school in Brooks before graduating from Plummer High School. After he graduated, Harvey began a 30-year career at Arctic Cat in Thief River Falls.
In 2002, he married Inez Lenhart. They operated the New Health store in Thief River Falls for several years. They lived in Thief River Falls, Red Lake Falls, and Brooks before moving to Lancaster in 2018. As Harvey’s Parkinson’s Disease progressed, he moved to the nursing home in Hallock shortly after they moved to Lancaster.
He was a tinkerer. Harvey considered himself a hobby farmer who enjoyed working on his old tractors. Harvey and Inez loved to travel and they made many trips abroad and around the country. He also liked to collect coins.
Left to mourn his passing are his wife, Inez; stepsons, Jon (Becky) Lenhart of Lancaster, and Jene (Toni) Lenhart of Thief River Falls; grandchildren, Sarah, Thomas, Jonathan, Christopher and Jayse; and brother, Michael (Sharon) Riendeau of Brooks.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Harvey and Mary.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, August 21, 2024, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Brooks.
Visitation will be one hour before services at the church.
Interment will be at St. Joseph Cemetery, Brooks.
