PINE RIDGE, SD (trfnews.i234.me) – A man was shot multiple times during a powwow in Pine Ridge, South Dakota, on Friday night. The Oglala Sioux Tribe Department of Public Safety reported that the shooting occurred at approximately 10:20 p.m. during a confrontation between several males at the powwow grounds.
The 57-year-old male victim was shot multiple times and was transported to the Pine Ridge emergency room. He was subsequently airlifted to Monument Health in Rapid City for further treatment. The suspect fled the scene on foot but was later apprehended while attempting to leave the area in a vehicle.
Authorities have assured the public that there is no ongoing danger. The incident remains under investigation.
