Gunfight in Minot: Early Morning Shooting Leaves Two Injured, Suspect in Custody

MINOT, ND (trfnews.i234.me) – The Minot Police Department received reports of multiple people fighting and possible gunshots in the 10 block of 1st Avenue SE on Sunday at approximately 3:10 A.M.

Upon arrival, officers conducted a high-risk traffic stop on a suspect vehicle leaving the scene. They apprehended Laquint Tydelle Sarvis, 23, from Fayetteville, NC, and seized a firearm from the vehicle. Two male victims sustained gunshot injuries and were transported to Trinity Hospital. One victim, a 21-year-old male, suffered minor injuries to his hand and was treated and released. The second victim, a 36-year-old male, sustained abdominal injuries and required surgery.

Following Marsy’s Law, no additional victim information will be released. Sarvis faces charges of Reckless Endangerment and Felon in Possession of a Firearm, both Class C Felonies. He was taken to Trinity Hospital for a gunshot wound to his foot sustained during the incident. After his release, he will be transported to Ward County Jail.
