On November 6, 2021, Lieutenant Frankfurth of the Minnesota State Patrol pulled over a driver who was driving erratically and straddling the skip stripe as it approached a construction zone. The driver asked if she should drive down a lane closed by construction, and Frankfurth informed her that it was a one-way street. The driver was later identified as 70-year-old Jee an Hansen, and she brandished what appeared to be a silver handgun and pointed it directly at Lieutenant Frankfurth. Frankfurth slowed her breathing down to maintain composure and provided dispatch with updates on the suspect’s potential whereabouts.

The elected Sheriff of Ramsey County, Bob Fletcher, was the first on the scene to assist. Officers caught up with Hansen minutes later at the Pascal Street bridge over I94, where she was found to be completely outside of the fence and still drinking from a bottle of tequila while grabbing at the handgun tucked in her waistband. Later, it was discovered that the handgun was a replica fashioned from foil and duct tape.

Hansen ultimately received probation as part of a plea deal, with her charge of drunk driving and fleeing police dismissed. She was not convicted in this matter.

  1. Not down with people being killed at all but I totally understand the police situations and need to use deadly force sometimes. With that said, I've seen in other police vids where guys (both black and white) pulled out fake guns and where lit up. Heck, I've seen a few where they acted like they where gonna pull out and immediately got lit up. And yet this woman was able to do so and then skirt off with her body and car entirely still in tact is confusing on so many levels to me.

  2. Ah, the benefits of being white in America…
Probation, Charges Dsmissed.. She just has to behave herself and she can be free as a bird…
A Black Man/Woman would have been dead before he/she could have driven off.

  3. Only a white elderly woman apparently can do whatever she wants and get her charges dropped…if this was black woman I feel things would've been MUCH different
