The Grand Forks Police Department was dispatched for a vehicle crash at 3400 Demers Ave. on Monday, September 26, at 2:10 a.m. Upon arrival, it was only a single-vehicle crash.

The vehicle was traveling West on Demers Ave. The vehicle left the road and struck the median. The vehicle traveled a short distance on the grass median before overturning onto Demers Ave. There was a total of seven occupants in the vehicle. Several were ejected. The two that were ejected were transported to Altru immediately. The other five occupants were able to get out of the car with assistance. Out of the five occupants, four were eventually transported to Altru with undisclosed injuries. The fifth occupant did not want to be transported. The driver of the vehicle is from Grand Forks. They were arrested for DUI.

The Grand Forks Police were assisted by CART, UAS, the Grand Forks Fire Department, and Altru.

The driver of the involved vehicle, a 2001 Chevrolet Tahoe, is identified as 32-year-old Grand Forks resident Starsha Laquisha Swift. Swift was arrested and charged with DUI, DUI refusal, Reckless Endangerment – 6 counts, and Driving Under Suspension. Swift refused medical attention and was confined at the GFCCC.
The passengers of the Tahoe are identified as:

  • Sherwood Daymond, 24 years old of Tampa, FL
  • Corey Reeves, 33 years old of Lithonia, GA
  • Lanauze Hollis, 32 years old of Lithonia, GA
  • Alexander Kendrick, 28 years old of Columbus, GA
  • Demetris Smith, 35 years old of Smyrna, GA
  • Lebron Remmer, 36 years old, unknown

Daymond and Hollis are the passengers identified as being ejected from the vehicle as a result of the rollover crash. Responding officers initiated CPR on both individuals, with fire department personnel and paramedics assisting upon their arrival. The other four passengers involved in the crash were also evaluated by Altru ER staff for apparent but non-life threatening injuries sustained from the crash. The six passengers identified are affiliated with the B. o. B musical artist but are not band members.
