Polk County, MN (trfnews.i234.me) — On May 28, 2025, East Grand Forks Police Department officers found Ryan Wade Thompson (DOB: 10/07/1976) unconscious in his parked Ford F-150 at the East Side Express gas station. Upon awakening, Thompson exhibited signs of impairment, including bloodshot eyes and slurred speech. Officers observed a .22 caliber rifle and ammunition in the vehicle. Thompson, previously convicted of a fifth-degree controlled substance crime in 2018, is prohibited from possessing firearms under Minnesota law. A urine test indicated the presence of methamphetamine and THC. Thompson faces felony charges for firearm possession by a prohibited person and misdemeanor DWI.
