According to court records:
- An officer attempted to pull over Lathrop on South Columbia Road for speeding.
- Instead of stopping, Lathrop accelerated and fled, turning onto 24th Avenue before the officer lost sight of him.
- The following day, authorities located Lathrop and his vehicle.
- During questioning, Lathrop admitted to fleeing, stating:
“I already had a ton of points on my license and didn’t want to lose it.”
