Grain Bin Accident In Wilkin County, Minnesota


CAMPBELL, MN (trfnews.i234.me) A man was rescued after being trapped in a grain bin near Campbell, Minnesota.
A man has survived a grain bin accident near Campbell, Minnesota. This from the Wilin County Sheriff’s Department Monday 12:13 p.m. Dispatch received a call of a man trapped in a grain bin near Campbell. The male who had been stuck for approximately 30 minutes before calling for help was found submerged in corn up to his waist and complaining of leg pain. Emergency crews from Campbell and Tinta fire departments responded utilizing specialized grain bin rescue equipment. Additional support was provided by State Patrol, St. Francis Ambulance, Breenriidge Fire, Alexandria Air Care. When Wil County deputies arrived on scene, the man was located in the center of the grain bin, alert and conscious. Emergency personnel worked to free him, and by 1:26 p.m., he was successfully extricated and transported by St. Francis ambulance to Essentia Health in Fargo, North Dakota for further medical evaluation. According to initial reports, the man had entered the grain bin to dislodge stuck corn when the grain began to shift and flow more rapidly than he could react. His son, who was present at the time, worked quickly to shovel corn away from him until emergency responders arrived.
