Grafton Man Flees Traffic Stop—Faces Felony Charges for Violating Protection Order!

Grafton, ND (trfnews.i234.me) — A Grafton man is now facing felony charges after fleeing a traffic stop and violating a domestic violence protection order Monday night.

According to court documents, at around 8:00 p.m., Cody Thorsteinson was pulled over by police in Grafton but refused to stop, leading officers on a brief chase. He eventually stopped near St. John’s Catholic Church on 15th Street.

When officers approached the vehicle, they observed Thorsteinson and his passenger shouting at each other. The passenger was identified as the protected victim in a domestic violence case.

Thorsteinson reportedly told officers that he knew they were both going to jail, which is why he refused to stop. Now, he faces charges for:

  • Felony Fleeing a Police Officer
  • Felony Violation of a Domestic Violence Protection Order
