GRAFTON, North Dakota (trfnews.i234.me) – A Grafton man is facing felony charges following a police chase on August 12.

According to court records, Jacob Lee Villaneva allegedly attempted to elude an officer while riding a moped in town. Despite efforts to flee, he was quickly apprehended.

Police say Villaneva was later found to have methamphetamine paraphernalia. As a result, he is now charged with:

  • Felony fleeing an officer

  • Felony possession of drug paraphernalia

Authorities emphasize that even small vehicles such as mopeds can pose significant risks during police chases, particularly in residential areas.

Villaneva remains in custody pending court proceedings. Officials note that felony convictions in North Dakota can carry serious prison terms and supervised release conditions.

The incident underscores ongoing concerns in Walsh County regarding methamphetamine use and related crimes. Law enforcement agencies across the region continue to report high numbers of cases tied to meth possession and distribution.
