Good Samaritans Come to the Rescue of Jamestown Woman Charged with Assaulting ND Trooper

ORISKA, ND (trfnews.i234.me) A Jamestown, North Dakota woman is charged with Assaulting a North Dakota Trooper at the rest area on Interstate-94 by Oriska Monday morning.
a jamestown woman 35 year old amanda levy is facing charges for allegedly assaulting a north dakota highway patrol trooper at the eriska rest area today this in from the highway patrol who responded to a report of a reckless driver traveling westbound on i-94 near tower city the vehicle was described as a tan buick lasabre with no registration displayed the north dakota trooper located the buick parked at the westbound rest area oriska rest area on i-94 at approximately 7 24 am the driver appeared to be passed out inside the running buick the trooper was able to wake up the driver of the buick and observe signs the driver was under the influence of methamphetamine the driver refused to exit the vehicle and was placed under arrest after the driver of the buick was placed under arrest the trooper attempted to use force to remove the driver from the vehicle the driver resisted arrest and was able to place the vehicle in reverse and began to accelerate in reverse dragging the trooper the trooper was able to force the vehicle back into park and the driver continued to resist the trooper while the driver was resisting she attempted to disarm the trooper two good samaritans assisted the trooper in removing the driver from the buick and the trooper was able to place to place the driver in handcuffs the driver was then secured in a patrol vehicle after taking the driver into custody it was learned that the buick had been stolen from clay county minnesota on july 5th the driver of the buick was 35 year old amanda levy of jamestown levy was arrested for the following misdemeanor offenses driving under the influence driving under suspension false information and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle she was also arrested for the following felonies attempting to disarm a law enforcement officer resisting arrest aggravated assault possession of meth and unlawful possession of meth paraphernalia levy was transported for minor injuries by barnes county ambulance to mercy hospital in valley city she was treated released and transported to the stutzman county jail the trooper who is not named was treated for non-life threatening injuries at mercy hospital in valley city and has been released from the hospital the valley city police department and barnes county sheriff’s office responded to the incident as well i’m Neil Berg reporting for trfnews.i234.me
