On September 1 at 2:42 p.m., police responded to two complaints about a driver excessively revving his engine in the 1100 block of Stephen Street. Cole Howard Knochenmus, 29, from Glencoe, was subsequently charged with driving after license cancellation and failing to use a child restraint.

A police sergeant located the suspect vehicle near the intersection of First Street and Westview Avenue. Upon stopping the vehicle, officers found Knochenmus with a small girl in the front seat, unbuckled and holding a doll while asleep. An unused car seat was spotted in the back seat.

Knochenmus reportedly admitted to using a laptop to tune the vehicle’s engine. The complaint noted that his driving status was canceled due to public safety concerns.
