Gerald “Jerry” Englund, 80, of East Grand Forks, passed away Friday, July 19, 2024 at his lake home in Gonvick, MN.
Gerald Jon Englund was born September 15, 1943 in Grand Forks, ND to George William and Margaret Evelyn (Armes) Englund. He grew up and attended school in Grand Forks where he met and married Charlotte “Lotty” Nelson. He started loading trucks for Bridgeman Creamery and a very young age and turned that into a lifetime career of over 60 years. After loading trucks he moved to delivering milk and eventually moved to dairy sales, where he earned the ND Grocers Assoc. Salesman of the Year in 2011, and ending as a Sales Manager.
Jerry, as he was better known, enjoyed spending time with his family at Pine Lake near Gonvick, MN, and having coffee with the Burger King crew during the winter months in Grand Forks.
Jerry is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Lotty Englund of East Grand Forks; children Mitchell Nels Englund (Sandy Nygord) of Grand Forks, Marnie Suzanne (Scott) Fawver of Gonvick, and Heather Leighanne (Dan) Schroder of Fisher; grandchildren Derek Englund, Ryan Englund (Kenny McMillan), Brooke Aamodt (Mark), Tyler Olson (Cassie), Crystal Kahl (Justin), Zach Dunrud (Lilly), Colt Schroder (Arica), Blake Lieberg, and Mia Schroder, great-grandchildren Riley, Tucker, Hudson, Avery, Kyah, and Cooper; sister Margo Weisser (Steve) of Grand Forks; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents George and Margaret Englund, daughter Bobbi Pratt, grandson Scott Olson, and sister Susan Argall.
MEMORIAL SERVICE: 5:00 PM, Monday August 19, 2024 at Dahl Funeral Home, 2029 Central Ave. NW, East Grand Forks, MN 56721. Service will be live-streamed on Jerry’s page at www.dandahlfuneralhome.com.
VISITATION: One hour before service at the funeral home.
INURNMENT: Resurrection Cemetery of East Grand Forks, MN will follow on Tuesday.
