Gerald “Gary” Stengl – Obituary

Gerald “Gary” Stengl, age 81, of Tabor, MN passed away Tuesday, December 3, 2024 at Valley Senior Living of Grand Forks, ND.

Gerald Joseph Stengl was born May 14, 1943 in Grand Forks to Joseph and Emily (Holub) Stengl. He grew up in Tabor and attended school at the AC in Crookston. On September 1, 1965, Gary, as he was known to most, married Jeanette Amiot in Tabor. Gary farmed his entire life, farming with his Dad, working for Tri-Mack Potato and also driving gravel truck. He eventually ventured out on his own operating his own farm until retiring in 1991. Gary enjoyed hunting, fishing, trips to the casino, and was a River City Speedway fan, spending many Friday nights in the stands.

He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Jeanette Stengl of Tabor, MN; children, Melodie (Robert) Osowski of East Grand Forks, MN, Suzanne Vold of Park River, ND and Shane (Jodi) Stengl of Arden Hills, MN; nine grandchildren, Tyler, Sadie, Garrett, Daisy, Jake, Joe, Haydyn, Gavin and Keegan; six great-grandchildren, Dash, Brinley, Baker, Maizie, Emmett and Kenley; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Emily Stengl, brother, Darrell Stengl, in-laws, Louis and Yvonne Amiot, sister-in-law, Pat Stengl and son-in-law, Darren Vold.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.

MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL: 11:00 AM, Saturday, December 7, 2024 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church of Tabor, MN

VISITATION: One hour prior to the funeral Mass at the church

INTERMENT: Holy Trinity Catholic Church Cemetery, Tabor, MN immediately following the Funeral Mass.
