Los Angeles police reported that an individual was fatally shot after three people were seen “removing property” in downtown Los Angeles. Wactor’s brother confirmed to KTLA that the actor was the victim, believed to be attempting to prevent a catalytic converter theft.

His agent, David Shaul, remembered Wactor as a “spectacular human being” and a “talented actor” who was a “moral example” to all who knew him. “Our time with Johnny was a privilege,” Shaul said. “He would literally give you the shirt off his back. After over a decade together, he will leave a hole in our hearts forever.”
