Johnny Wactor, known for his role in General Hospital, tragically died on Saturday, May 25, in Los Angeles at the age of 37.

Early Saturday morning, Wactor was with a coworker near his car when he noticed three individuals tampering with the vehicle. According to his mother, Wactor was shot as he approached them, and the suspects fled the scene.

Los Angeles police reported that an individual was fatally shot after three people were seen “removing property” in downtown Los Angeles. Wactor’s brother confirmed to KTLA that the actor was the victim, believed to be attempting to prevent a catalytic converter theft.

The incident occurred around 3:25 a.m. near Pico Boulevard and Hope Street. Wactor was transported to a local hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.

Wactor portrayed Brando Corbin on General Hospital from 2020 to 2022. His acting career began in 2007 with a role in Army Wives, and he appeared in various shows including Westworld and Criminal Minds.

His agent, David Shaul, remembered Wactor as a “spectacular human being” and a “talented actor” who was a “moral example” to all who knew him. “Our time with Johnny was a privilege,” Shaul said. “He would literally give you the shirt off his back. After over a decade together, he will leave a hole in our hearts forever.”
