Fugitive in Recent Bemidji Shooting Also Linked to Last Year’s Fatal Incident

BEMIDJI, MN (trfnews.i234.me) A Bemidji, Minnesota man who’s wanted in connection to a shooting this week was also involved in a deadly shooting last year. Police are asking for your help if you have any information regarding the whereabouts of Antonio Parkhurst.
we have an update on a shooting here at the ridgeway apartments in bemidji on tuesday this week uh 19 year old uh antonio parkhurst remains on the run on this friday he still wanted in this case a 17 year old male was also arrested and has not been named a 17 year old male who was shot survived now parkhurst was also involved in a deadly shooting and in february of last year in bemidji uh the murder charge in that case was dismissed for background on that case here’s our story from february of 2020. we now have more details in that monday night shooting in bemidji that left one man dead and one man wounded formal charges have been filed against antonio parkhurst he’s been charged with one count of second-degree murder without intent while committing a felony and one count of assault a second-degree weapon with substantial bodily harm police have identified the murder victim in this as 20-year-old lupe rozillo another uh man 18 year old man was shot in the leg and since released from the hospital now here are more details on all this reading uh directly from the criminal complaint quote on february 17th at approximately 10 30 pm the city of bemidji police officers responded to 1114 minnesota avenue northwest in the city of bemidji to investigate a report of multiple gunshots upon arrival officers observed a male lying on the ground in front of the walkway of the house officers determined that he was deceased and his identity was lr lupe rozillo a 20 year old a 20 year old male officers spoke with a witness lj who stated that she was present in the residence earlier and that lr and another individual jb and a young man by the name of antonio parkhurst the above named defendant were present in a room inside the home lj stated that she was not present in the room with these three persons but heard two gunshots lj stated that she ran out of the house found lr in the front yard and called 9-1-1 while police officers were investigating at the scene dispatch received a call from medical staff at sanford emergency reporting j.b was being treated for a gunshot wound he has since been released from the hospital back to the complaint officers responded to sanford hospital and met with jp who reported that he was jumped by parkhurst in the alleyway behind the residence of 1114 minnesota avenue jb reported that parkhurst robbed him at gunpoint and shot him with a handgun jb stated that he fled and called his brother to bring him to the hospital bemidji police officers and minnesota bureau of criminal apprehension agents were unable to locate parkhurst because of the discrepancies between ljs and jp statements law enforcement continued further investigation on from february 18th and 19th lj subsequently informed city of bemidji police detectives and bc agents that she lr jb and another female dm conspired to lure parker’s to the residents for purposes of robbing him of money lj informed law enforcement that she contacted parkhurst and invited him to the residence lj stated that after 10 pm february 17th parkhurst arrived and she and dm directed parkhurst into a smaller bedroom lj stated that they contacted lr and jb who were hiding in a separate location on the property preparing to ambush parkhurst lj stated that lr and jb then ran into the apartment wearing mass and rush toward barkers who was alone in the bedroom for purposes of committing the robbery and our assault lj stated that she heard two gunshots panicked and fled the apartment along with dm jb subsequently provided a statement consistent with lj’s city of bemidji police officers and detectives as well as bca agents continue to search for parker’s on february 18th and 19th on the afternoon of february 19th bemidji police officers a regis arrested parkhurst as he was walking in the hallway at the location of ridgeway avenue in the city of bemidji in a subsequent miranda’s statement parker stated he was invited to 1114 minnesota avenue by lj on the night of february 17th parker stated that he was in possession of a nine millimeter handgun in cash when he arrived at the residence parker stated that he arrived at the residence and was directed into a smaller bedroom parker stated that two masked men ran into the bedroom and began assaulting him parker stated that he responded to the assailants by firing two shots in their direction in order to stop the assault and afford an opportunity to escape parker stated that he ran down the stairs and fled through the alley parkhurst further stated that he was aware that law enforcement would be looking for him but he was afraid and chose not to turn himself in again as we indicated that was our report from february of 2020 and as we said the murder charge against parkhurst in that case was dismissed now he remains on the run again in connection to a shooting here at the ridgeway apartments in bemidji on tuesday if you have any information on this case you’re asked to contact police i’m Neil Berg reporting for trfnews.i234.me
