Becker County (TRF News) – Frazee Man Sentenced to 30 Years for Child Sex Crimes

In Frazee, Minnesota, a shocking verdict was handed down in the Becker County District Court against 46-year-old Shawn Louis Boit on four felony counts of first-degree criminal sexual conduct. The chilling details reveal that he engaged in multiple acts of sexual contact with a girl under the age of 14 on numerous occasions.

The victim, only 10 years old at the time, bravely attended a forensic interview at the Red River Children’s Advocacy Center, leading to criminal charges being filed against Boit. After a harrowing trial, on Dec. 12, 2024, a jury found him guilty on all four counts.

On Feb. 19, Becker County District Judge Michael Fritz sentenced Boit to serve consecutive prison sentences totaling 8 years and 6 months at St. Cloud Correctional Facility for the first three counts, with credit for time already served. He was also fined $50 per count and will be subject to conditional release after confinement for life.

The fourth count resulted in a guilty verdict without adjudication, with all counts to be served concurrently. This shocking case highlights the importance of supporting victims and seeking justice against those who commit such heinous crimes.
