Fosston, MN (trfnews.i234.me) – A Fosston man is now facing serious felony drug charges following a months-long investigation by law enforcement.
Court records show that in July and August, a confidential informant visited a home on Johnson Avenue North in Fosston. The informant reportedly purchased methamphetamine on two separate occasions, with each sale involving about 29 grams of the drug. Each transaction allegedly cost $800.
Authorities say the sales took place at the residence of Timothy John Lafriniere. The total amount purchased in the controlled buys was around two ounces of methamphetamine.
After the buys, police executed a search warrant at the home. Investigators report finding another ounce of meth on the property during that search. The drugs were seized as evidence.
Lafriniere is now charged with four felonies: two counts of first-degree sale of meth, one count of first-degree possession, and one count of second-degree sale.
According to Minnesota law, each first-degree charge carries a maximum possible sentence of 30 years in prison. The second-degree charge also carries a lengthy potential sentence and heavy fines.
This case highlights the ongoing fight against illegal drugs in rural Minnesota. Local and state authorities have worked to reduce meth trafficking, which continues to be a serious issue in many communities.

The investigation remains active, and more details may be released as the case moves forward in court.
