Fort Totten Man Avoids More Jail Time After Stabbing Incident

RAMSEY COUNTY, N.D. (trfnews.i234.me) – A Fort Totten man, Louis Lyle Blacklance Jr., pleaded guilty to Class C felony aggravated assault with a dangerous weapon on Thursday, June 27, and will serve no additional time in custody.

In February, Blacklance, 23, stabbed a man multiple times in the side and back with a small steak knife during an altercation. When law enforcement arrived, the victim had pinned Blacklance to the ground. The victim, who declined medical attention, reported that he intervened in an argument between Blacklance and his girlfriend, which escalated into the stabbing.

According to the affidavit, Blacklance was highly intoxicated at the time. He was sentenced to three years in custody, with two years and 238 days suspended, having already served 127 days prior to sentencing. Blacklance will be on supervised probation for two years.
