FARGO, ND (trfnews.i234.me) – Ryan Baron, the former superintendent of the Midkota School District in North Dakota, now faces several federal child exploitation charges. Initially charged with possessing child sexual abuse materials last November, Baron was federally indicted on June 6, the same day his state trial was set for mid-September. The federal case was unsealed on June 12.

Baron’s alleged co-conspirator, Aaron Doss, 27, of Fargo, had a related state case dismissed following the federal indictment. Both men are charged in U.S. District Court with multiple counts, including coercion and enticement of a minor, attempted sexual exploitation of a child, and possession and distribution of child exploitation images.

The indictment details that Baron’s criminal activities date back to January 2014, including incidents during his tenure as a math teacher in Browerville, Minnesota. Federal charges against Baron include offenses up to January 2024, even after explicit content involving minors was found in his Google Drive.

Baron’s employment with the Midkota School District ended in December 2023, and his teaching license was suspended in March 2024. His federal trial is scheduled to begin on August 6 and is expected to last four days.
