FARGO, N.D. (trfnews.i234.me) – A former Bison football player, 19-year-old Jaiden Pickett, made his preliminary hearing on Monday, November 4. Prosecutors called Fargo Police Detective Tom Bernier to describe certain evidence related to the incident that took place around 1 a.m., on Sunday, September 8.
Detective Bernier stated that Snapchat videos show Pickett pointing a gun at a man after an argument occurred. The detective also mentioned that a single bullet casing was found in the grass outside of the home where the party took place and a bullet went into the window of the home. He further noted that an accidental discharge of the weapon was unlikely.
During testimony, police stated that there wasn’t a Snapchat video of Pickett pulling the trigger.
Pickett’s defense attorney argued after witness testimony that some things were wrong with the evidence and some witnesses sensationalized what happened.
The judge determined that the prosecution presented sufficient evidence to support the Class C felony charges. The bond was reduced from $50,000 to $25,000 as Pickett doesn’t have a criminal history.
Pickett’s next hearing is scheduled for Wednesday, November 27th.
