BURNSVILLE, DAKOTA COUNTY (trfnews.i234.me) — Tragedy struck in the early morning hours of April 17, 2025, when a 2010 Ford Fusion drifted off southbound Interstate 35 and slammed into the back of a parked semi trailer near Crystal Lake Road in Burnsville.

Authorities report the semi-truck, a 2018 Freightliner, was legally stopped on the shoulder when the Fusion, driven by 39-year-old Troy Vincent Roberts of Delano, MN, veered right and collided with the trailer. Airbags deployed, and Roberts, who was wearing a seatbelt, was rushed to HCMC with life-threatening injuries.

The semi driver, Abdurhman Mohamed Sheik, 27, of Kansas City, MO, was not injured and had not been wearing a seatbelt. Alcohol involvement for Roberts is currently unknown.

Responding agencies included the Burnsville Police Department.
