Red Lake Indian Reservation, MN (trfnews.i234.me) – Five individuals have been sentenced to prison for their involvement in a horrifying child abuse and neglect case on the Red Lake Indian Reservation. Trina Mae Johnson, who directed the abuse of a child in her legal custody through a foster care placement, received the harshest sentence: 216 months in prison followed by five years of supervised release.
Court documents reveal that Johnson subjected the child to severe mistreatment, including starvation, forced standing in painful positions, and physical assaults. She was aided by Bertram Calvin Lussier Jr. and her three sisters, who each played a role in the ongoing abuse.
Bobbi Jo Johnson was sentenced to 72 months in prison, while Ellie and Patricia Johnson each received 48-month sentences. Lussier was sentenced to 24 months in prison. All will also serve additional years of supervised release following their imprisonment.
