Fire Destroys Rural Bemidji Garage

BEMIDJI, MN (trfnews.i234.me) Fire has destroyed a rural Bemidji, Minnesota garage. One firefighter was injured.

A detached garage was destroyed in a fire near Turtle River, Northeast of Bemidji, Minnesota on Wednesday. Bemidji fire crews responded to a report of a structured fire at approximately 3:58 pm and found a sizable detached garage fully engulfed in flames. Due to the intensity of the fire, firefighters went into defensive mode and fought the fire from the exterior. Additional crews arrived at the scene, and landlines were pulled to assist with fire extinguishment. The firefighters were on the scene for approximately three hours, with 29 firefighters and 11 pieces of equipment involved. The structure and its contents were considered a total loss, and one firefighter injury was reported. The fire is under investigation and appears to be accidental. Bemidji Fire was assisted at the scene by the Beltrami County Sheriff’s Office, Bemidji Ambulance, and Beltrami Electric.
