Stutsman County (trfnews.i234.me) — Police in Jamestown, North Dakota, are investigating two separate incidents from Tuesday — one involving the discovery of possible fetal remains at a construction site, and another involving gunfire through a motel window.
According to the Jamestown Police Department, officers were called around 2:49 p.m. Tuesday after a construction crew working in southeast Jamestown reported finding what they believed to be human fetal remains. The workers also discovered pieces of an amber-brown glass container nearby.
Officers responded and confirmed the presence of what appeared to be intact fetal remains. The discovery was examined by the Stutsman County Coroner and later sent to the state medical examiner’s office for further investigation and identification. Officials have not yet released additional details regarding the age or possible origin of the remains.
In a separate case that same day, officers were dispatched to a motel in southwest Jamestown following reports of bullet holes in a window. The investigation revealed that a handgun had been fired from inside a motel room, with rounds passing through the window and into the parking lot. Police recovered several spent handgun casings inside the room.
Authorities say the incident is believed to have involved a small group of known individuals and that there is no threat to the general public. The Jamestown Police Department is working with the Stutsman County Sheriff’s Office, Narcotics Task Force, and North Dakota Probation and Parole on the ongoing investigation.
Anyone with information regarding either case is urged to contact Jamestown Police at (701) 252-1000.
