Brian Keith Vasquez, 43, of Brooklyn Center, had felony drug charges dropped in Becker County after a search of a rental vehicle on June 11, 2023, uncovered a large stash of THC and psilocybin products. The incident began when a state trooper pulled over the vehicle for speeding on Highway 10. Vasquez, a passenger, was not listed on the rental agreement, which raised suspicions along with the driver’s nervous behavior. A K9 unit search revealed over 1,000 grams of marijuana, psilocybin gummies, and a variety of THC-related items.
Despite the discovery, charges against Vasquez were dismissed on June 24 due to his ongoing custody with the Department of Corrections until 2027 for an unrelated matter, according to court filings from Becker County.
