Naytahwaush, MN (trfnews.i234.me) – A Mahnomen County man, Collins Bertram Eugene Rohrbach, 25, of Naytahwaush has been charged with felony domestic assault after allegedly striking his sister in the face twice during a violent outburst that played out in front of law enforcement.
According to the criminal complaint, Mahnomen County deputies responded late June 11 to a domestic assault report at Rohrbach’s residence. Upon arrival, Sergeant Ryan Zettel witnessed Rohrbach hit his sister, Samantha Rohrbach, with an open hand as she tried to flee the home.
Statements from both the victim and her sister, Susan, describe Collins grabbing Samantha by the neck and slapping her multiple times. After fleeing the scene initially, Rohrbach was later apprehended when he returned to the residence.
He now faces a felony charge due to two previous domestic assault convictions (Case Nos. 44-CR-24-542 and 44-CR-18-55), making this his third offense within ten years — a serious escalation under Minnesota law.
If convicted, Rohrbach faces up to 5 years in prison or a $10,000 fine.
