A fatal single-vehicle crash claimed the life of a 29-year-old Williston man on the morning of September 25, 2024. The accident occurred near the intersection of 130th Rd NW and 48th St NW, about 3 miles southeast of Williston.
According to the North Dakota Highway Patrol (NDHP), the driver of a 2007 Peterbilt truck lost control, veering off the roadway before attempting to correct back onto the road. The truck rolled multiple times and came to rest on its top. Emergency services, including the Williams County Sheriff’s Office, Williston Ambulance Service, and local fire departments, responded to the scene.
The driver sustained serious injuries and was transported to CHI Williston before being airlifted to Trinity Health in Minot, where he succumbed to his injuries. Authorities reported that the driver was not wearing a seatbelt. The investigation is ongoing, and charges are pending. The driver’s identity is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
