Crash Involvement: Single-vehicle

Vehicle: 2011 Ford F-150

Driver: Clyde Petty, 66-year-old male from Williston, ND; fatal injuries; not wearing a seatbelt

Narrative:

On December 13, 2024, at approximately 6:42 AM CT, a single-vehicle crash occurred on Highway 1804 near mile marker 310, about 7 miles east of Williston. A 2011 Ford F-150, driven by 66-year-old Clyde Petty of Williston, was traveling westbound when it departed the roadway, entering the north ditch. The vehicle then vaulted over a field approach and came to rest upright.

Mr. Petty sustained injuries from the crash and was transported to CHI St. Alexius Hospital in Williston. He was later transferred to Sanford Hospital in Bismarck, where he passed away on December 16, 2024, due to injuries sustained in the crash.

The crash remains under investigation by the North Dakota Highway Patrol. The name was released upon notification of next of kin.
