Fatal Rollover Crash in Brooklyn Park Linked to Osseo Theft

A tragic incident unfolded on Sunday in Brooklyn Park as a woman lost her life in a rollover crash, revealing connections to a theft in Osseo.

Brooklyn Park police responded to the crash site near County Road 81 and Greenhaven Road, opposite Walmart, around 12:30 p.m. According to witnesses, the vehicle had veered off the road, flipping over. Notably, one occupant managed to escape but fled towards the Walmart store.

Upon inspection, officers discovered the overturned vehicle in a ditch. A tow truck was summoned, and a woman was found dead beneath the vehicle. Concurrently, law enforcement successfully apprehended the man who had fled the scene.

Further investigations revealed that the vehicle had been implicated in a theft at a Napa Auto Parts store in Osseo. The woman was driving with a male passenger, and the vehicle itself was reported stolen in Minneapolis.

The fleeing man, treated for minor injuries, was subsequently booked into Hennepin County Jail due to multiple outstanding warrants. Additional charges related to the Osseo theft may be forthcoming.

As of now, the identity of the deceased woman remains undisclosed, and the investigation into both the theft and the crash is ongoing.
