A devastating motorcycle crash on Renville County Road 26 claimed the life of a 52-year-old Minot woman on Saturday, September 7, 2024. The fatal incident occurred around 3:34 PM CST, approximately two miles east of Grano, North Dakota, when a 2006 Harley Davidson motorcycle, driven by 66-year-old William Foondle of Minot, failed to negotiate a curve and veered off the road.
The female passenger, who was not wearing a helmet, was pronounced dead at the scene. Foondle, who also did not wear a helmet, sustained serious but non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to Trinity Hospital in Minot for treatment.
Authorities revealed that Foondle is facing charges of DUI and operating the motorcycle without the required motorcycle endorsement. The crash took place under clear weather and dry road conditions.
The North Dakota Highway Patrol, along with the Renville County Sheriff’s Office, Mohall Ambulance, and Lansford Fire Department, responded to the scene. The investigation into the crash is ongoing.
