Fatal Hit-and-Run Incident in South Fargo: Victim Identified and Suspect Apprehended

FARGO (trfnews.i234.me) – The North Dakota Highway Patrol has identified the victim of a recent hit-and-run incident in South Fargo. On December 23, 2024, at approximately 6:28 a.m., 36-year-old Robyn Krause was crossing 38th Street South at 53rd Avenue South, near a Walmart, when she was struck by a northbound Dodge Charger. Krause was transported to Essentia Health, where she was pronounced deceased.

The driver, identified as 23-year-old Alex Cruz of Fargo, fled the scene following the collision. Law enforcement apprehended Cruz several hours later on 52nd Avenue South. He has been charged with leaving the scene of a fatal crash and is currently detained in the Cass County Jail.

Records indicate that Cruz has a history of traffic violations, including four speeding citations in 2024. One of these citations was for exceeding the speed limit by over 23 miles per hour in West Fargo.
