According to the Minnesota State Patrol, a 2009 Chevy Impala traveling in the right lane spun out on ice, sliding across all lanes of traffic. A semi-truck in the left lane collided with the driverβs side of the Impala.

Despite emergency responders from Allina and the Eden Prairie Fire Department arriving quickly, Hernandez-Aguilar was pronounced dead at the scene.
