BURLEIGH COUNTY, N.D. (trfnews.i234.me) – The North Dakota Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal two-vehicle crash that occurred on I-94, approximately 7 miles east of Sterling, ND, on Sunday night.
Shortly after 8:30 p.m., a Dodge Caravan traveling eastbound lost control, crossed the median and collided with a westbound Kenworth semi-truck. The van struck the semi’s driver’s side and was run over by the rear trailer tires.
The driver of the Dodge Caravan, a 41-year-old woman from Bismarck, was pronounced dead at the scene. The semi-truck driver, a 73-year-old man from Mora, Minnesota, was not injured.
Westbound lanes of I-94 were closed for two hours, with traffic rerouted to Old Highway 10 during the investigation.
