DAWSON, Minn. (trfnews.i234.me) – A fatal car crash occurred on Friday morning in southwestern Minnesota, resulting in one death and three injuries. The incident involved a pickup truck and an SUV colliding head-on.
According to the State Patrol, the accident happened around 10:30 a.m. on Highway 212 in Lac Qui Parle County near Dawson. An eastbound pickup driven by Dale Monnens, a 60-year-old of Madison, collided with a westbound SUV.
Monnens died at the scene due to not wearing a seatbelt. A 64-year-old woman traveling with him and two people in the SUV, including a 1-year-old boy suffered non-life-threatening injuries and were taken to Dawson Hospital for treatment.
The investigation revealed that alcohol was not a factor in the crash. The state patrol is still investigating the incident.
