Fatal Crash in Barnes County: SUV Driver Dies After Losing Control on County Road 22

DAWSON, Minn. (trfnews.i234.me)A fatal car crash occurred on Friday morning in southwestern Minnesota, resulting in one death and three injuries. The incident involved a pickup truck and an SUV colliding head-on.

According to the State Patrol, the accident happened around 10:30 a.m. on Highway 212 in Lac Qui Parle County near Dawson. An eastbound pickup driven by Dale Monnens, a 60-year-old of Madison, collided with a westbound SUV.

Monnens died at the scene due to not wearing a seatbelt. A 64-year-old woman traveling with him and two people in the SUV, including a 1-year-old boy suffered non-life-threatening injuries and were taken to Dawson Hospital for treatment.

The investigation revealed that alcohol was not a factor in the crash. The state patrol is still investigating the incident.
