Fatal Crash Involving Semi Near Sanborn, North Dakota: Authorities Release Details

BARNES COUNTY, N.D. (trfnews.i234.me) — A fatal crash occurred near Sanborn, North Dakota on Monday morning involving a vehicle and a semi-truck hauling soybeans. The incident resulted in the death of one passenger.

According to authorities, the accident happened at approximately 8:00 am when a vehicle driven by a 15-year-old girl from Valley City collided with the semi-truck operated by Dwight Albrecht, a 59-year-old resident of Sanborn.

Sara Leick, a 46-year-old woman from Valley City, was pronounced dead at the scene. She was a passenger in the vehicle driven by the teenager.

The vehicle’s driver and Mr. Albrecht were taken to separate medical facilities for treatment. The teen suffered life-threatening injuries and was transported to Sanford Hospital in Fargo. Dwight Albrecht sustained serious injuries as well.

Authorities have identified those involved in the fatal crash, but further details regarding their conditions or any potential charges are not available at this time.
