Fatal Crash Involving Minnesota DNR Officer Near Grand Rapids

GRAND RAPIDS, MN (trfnews.i234.me) A Minnesota DNR Officer was killed in a 2-vehicle crash northeast of Grand Rapids on Monday.
minnesota dnr officer 39 year old sarah ann grell of cohasset minnesota was killed in a car accident on monday in itasca county the minnesota state patrol says it happened at 8 33 a.m on monday uh grill was driving a chevy silverado northbound on itasca county road 336 and collided with a peterbilt semi that was traveling east on itasca county road 57 the semi made contact with the driver’s door of the chevrolet in the intersection causing a fatal injuries to growl in a statement the minnesota dnr says our heartfelt condolences are with the family of conservation officer sarah grill who died monday in the line of duty officer grell who died in a two-vehicle crash near grand rapids leaves behind a husband and three children she served as a conservation officer since 2005 and had a deeply held dedication to serving minnesota’s people and natural resources she was part of a proud family legacy her uncle father and grandfather also worked as conservation officers her husband jean works for dnr’s forestry division and her mother worked for dnr fisheries until her retirement i’m Neil Berg reporting for trfnews.i234.me

    It appears the officer ran a stop sign and was broadsided by the semi. Hopefully a change can be made so that something like this doesn't happen again, whatever that may be. It might be to not allow officers to use their laptops while traveling, it might be to put a roundabout at that intersection and others like it, whatever….

  2. I'm curious, was C.O. Grell working at the time of the accident? Was she operating in emergency driving mode? Was she in a Department owned vehicle?

    I know these videos are meant to inform, but this particular one leaves a lot of unanswered questions. Any additional news that comes out will certainly be appreciated, thank You for any updates!
