Marshall County, Minnesota (trfnews.i234.me)A tragic accident occurred on Friday, May 9, 2025, in rural Newfolden, resulting in the death of 43-year-old Justin Underdahl. According to the Marshall County Sheriff’s Office, Underdahl was operating a 2000 Polaris Sportsman ATV near the intersection of 330th Street Northwest and 110th Avenue Northwest when he collided with a semi-truck.

The semi-truck, a 2009 Freightliner towing a 2019 Timpte trailer, was driven by 49-year-old Christopher Maurstad of Warren. Maurstad reported that he had just passed a driveway when Underdahl’s ATV struck the left rear tire and wheel of the tractor at a high rate of speed. Underdahl was pronounced dead at the scene. Maurstad was uninjured in the incident.

Investigations by deputies and the Minnesota State Patrol concluded that Underdahl failed to yield to the semi-truck while exiting a driveway, leading to the fatal collision. Emergency services, including EMS and the Newfolden Fire Department, responded to the scene at approximately 4:55 p.m.
