FARGO, N.D. (trfnews.i234.me) – On Wednesday morning, January 22, 2025, Leo Dartoe was arraigned in Cass County District Court, North Dakota. He faces charges of murder, unlawful possession of a firearm, and two counts of delivery of fentanyl. Dartoe was extradited to Cass County in November 2024 after being apprehended in Atlanta, Georgia, in October 2024. The charges are connected to the August 23, 2024, shooting that resulted in the death of Sampson Bleh.
Court records indicate that Geettoe Kamara transported Dartoe to an apartment building at 2202 12th Avenue South in Fargo, where the incident occurred. Surveillance footage from a nearby business reportedly captured both individuals at the scene. Kamara is charged with being an accomplice to murder and faces an additional drug-related charge. According to court documents, Kamara allegedly removed approximately 350 M30 fentanyl pills from Bleh’s pockets while Bleh was still alive.
Investigators report that Kamara denied any acquaintance with Dartoe, despite evidence of eight phone calls between them prior to the shooting and two subsequent calls. Law enforcement discovered two 9mm shell casings at the crime scene and five additional casings at Kamara’s residence at 2228 6th Avenue South. The casings from Kamara’s apartment were similar to those found at the shooting location.
Following the incident, Dartoe fled the scene. Bleh sustained two gunshot wounds: one to the right side of his chest and another to his leg. Emergency medical services provided treatment at the scene, but Bleh was pronounced dead upon arrival at the hospital.
Dartoe is scheduled to appear in court again on Thursday, February 27, 2025.
