FARGO, ND (trfnews.i234.me) – In January 2025, Princess Leiyipei Gweh, a 25-year-old resident of Fargo, North Dakota, received a 19-year prison sentence following a plea agreement. She pleaded guilty to two counts of aggravated assault and one count of reckless endangerment, while three other charges were dismissed as part of the agreement.
The charges stem from an incident on February 18, 2024, at approximately 2:11 a.m., in the parking lot of the now-closed Cairo Restaurant and Bar, located in the 4500 block of Seventh Avenue South in Fargo. According to court documents, Gweh engaged in an argument with another female inside the establishment. The altercation continued outside, where Gweh entered her 2012 Audi Q5 and began driving erratically in the parking lot. Witnesses reported that she struck three individuals, causing serious injuries, including one victim who sustained life-threatening injuries.
Law enforcement officers responding to the scene observed signs of alcohol consumption by Gweh, including disordered speech, a strong odor of alcohol, and glossy, watery eyes. She admitted to consuming three shots of alcohol prior to the incident. Initially, Gweh faced charges including attempted murder, three counts of reckless endangerment, criminal mischief, and driving under the influence refusal. Under the plea agreement, she pleaded guilty to reduced charges, resulting in the 19-year prison sentence.
