FARGO (trfnews.i234.me) – Kelly Tweiten of Fargo has received a five-year suspended sentence after pleading guilty to felony theft for embezzling over $80,000 from Dietrich Homes, where she served as a financial manager. Tweiten will serve three years of probation and was credited for four days served.

Court documents reveal that Tweiten transferred funds into her personal bank account and wrote fraudulent checks to herself. The theft was uncovered when irregularities in the company’s account were noticed by the owner earlier this year.

In total, Tweiten wrote five checks amounting to over $15,000 to herself and used the company credit card for personal purchases, covering them up by paying with company funds before detection. She also deposited $7,000 into her personal account directly from her office computer.

A hearing for restitution will be scheduled at a later date to address financial compensation to Dietrich Homes.
