FARGO, ND (trfnews.i234.me) – A Fargo woman, Alicia Alaniz, is facing a felony charge for stealing a car after her story about using the vehicle to look for a man’s missing dog fell apart. According to court records, on June 25th, Alaniz was pulled over in Fargo while driving a car reported stolen from Moorhead.
Alaniz initially told the officer that she had permission to use the car to search for the man’s missing dog inside the vehicle. She then changed her story, claiming she took the car to escape an abusive man. Neither explanation held up when the male victim arrived to reclaim his car and dog.
Alicia Alaniz has been charged with felony theft of property.
