FARGO, ND (trfnews.i234.me) – The Fargo Fire Department has provided an update on the Sunday afternoon fire that severely damaged a twin home on 50th Avenue South. At 4:32 p.m., firefighters were dispatched to the scene after receiving reports of curtains catching fire in a basement bedroom.
Fortunately, both residents at the time escaped unharmed before firefighters arrived.
Upon arrival, crews found heavy flames emerging from a lower-level window. The fire quickly spread up the vinyl siding and into the attic, causing significant damage to the primary unit.
While the adjoining home suffered no fire damage in the living areas, the attic sustained considerable damage.
A nearby structure also had siding damage due to the heat. The fire was brought under control within 15 minutes, with the help of five engines, one truck company, and additional resources.
Assistance was also provided by Fargo Police, Sanford Ambulance, the Salvation Army, and the Red Cross.
The damage estimate is still being assessed.
